Enchantments, Anvil & Smithing Table
Enchantments are obtained through Anvil recipes, not an enchanting table. Each recipe requires a Book, experience levels, and a secondary material shown in JEI. The result is always a tier I enchanted book.
Creating an enchanted book
- Search the enchantment in JEI.
- Gather a normal Book and the required secondary ingredient.
- Bring enough XP for the recipe.
- Place the ingredients into the Anvil exactly as JEI shows.
- Apply the new tier I book to compatible equipment in the Anvil.
Combine matching books to reach higher tiers when that enchantment allows it.
Smithing without losing enchantments
Upgrade supported tools and armor through the Smithing Table. The upgraded item keeps its enchantments, making early investment worthwhile instead of disposable.
Pack enchantments
- Mendy I: restored durability is doubled.
- Mendy II: restored durability is tripled.
- Anti-Anvil: the item cannot be repaired or enchanted in an Anvil.

Read before applying Anti-Anvil
Once present, Anti-Anvil closes off normal Anvil repair and enchantment work. Finish the item's Anvil setup first.
