Tinkers: Furnace
The Seared Furnace is the bulk-smelting multiblock from Tinkers’ Construct 2. It behaves more like a high-capacity furnace than a liquid Smeltery: it cooks ordinary furnace recipes and can process many items at once.
What you need
Craft a Seared Furnace Controller, a Seared Tank for lava, and enough Seared blocks or glass for a hollow rectangular structure. Use JEI for the exact controller recipe because packs often alter Seared component costs.
Building it
- Build a solid rectangular Seared floor.
- Add a complete outer wall and leave the interior hollow.
- Place the Seared Furnace Controller and lava Tank in the wall.
- Add more wall layers to increase the number of simultaneous smelting slots.
- Fill the Tank with lava and open the Controller. A lit Controller confirms the structure.
Operating the furnace
Insert furnace-compatible inputs through the Controller UI. The structure distributes fuel across its internal slots and returns completed products in the output area. It is ideal for bulk stone, glass, food, charcoal, and recipe intermediates.
The Seared Furnace does not create molten metals, alloys, casts, or Tinkers tool parts. Use the Smeltery for liquids and the Seared Furnace for regular furnace recipes.
Expansion and automation
Add complete Seared wall layers to gain processing capacity. Connect item transport only after testing which sides the pack exposes for input and output; 1.12.2 modpacks may change automation behavior. Keep enough lava buffered before loading a large batch.
