Spaceworms (Technical)
This page explains the numbers behind the Spaceworm loop so you can compare animals and design reliable production.
Production model
A production cycle checks four things: the correct Wormsoil, valid food, enough Energy, and remaining Age. A successful cycle consumes resources and creates the species output.

Managing a line
- Record the parents' stats before breeding.
- Hatch and label every child.
- Keep only genuine improvements for the next generation.
- Move weaker but healthy worms to production.
- Retire low-Age breeders before a failed cycle wastes scarce inputs.
Mutation strategy
Mutations can improve or reduce inherited values. Avoid replacing a proven parent after one flashy stat: compare the whole profile and the trait. Maintain a backup pair so one bad generation does not erase progress.
Farm layout
Use separate, labeled cells for incubation, juvenile holding, breeders, and production. Keep food beside each species and route outputs into filtered storage. This prevents the most common mistake: feeding or housing the right worm in the wrong setup.
