Pixelmon: Breeding

In Minecraft 1.12.2-era Pixelmon, breeding uses a Ranch Block. Place two compatible Pokémon from your PC into the ranch and claim the Egg when the process completes.

Compatibility basics

The pair must share an Egg Group, or one parent can usually be Ditto. Most legendary and undiscovered-group Pokémon cannot breed. The Egg species generally follows the female parent, or the non-Ditto parent when breeding with Ditto.

Pack rule: environments disabled

This pack disables the normal block-environment requirement. You do not need to decorate the ranch with type-specific blocks to raise attraction. Build for safety, access, and organization instead.

Breeding workflow

1. Place a Ranch Block in a protected area.
2. Deposit two compatible Pokémon through the Ranch interface.
3. Interact with them to check attraction and progress.
4. Wait until an Egg appears in the Ranch Block.
5. Claim it into your party, then walk until it hatches.

Passing useful traits

• Everstone: commonly used to pass a parent's Nature.
• Destiny Knot: commonly used to improve inherited IV coverage.
• Egg moves, Abilities, Poké Balls, and regional mechanics depend on the Pixelmon version; verify the intended result before starting a rare pairing.

Label breeding pairs

Keep a chest or sign beside each Ranch with species, Nature, key IVs, and held items. It prevents expensive parents from becoming anonymous PC entries.
